Arquitectura.Architecture. Calle del Nuncio, 14.Calle del Nuncio, 14.14 شارع نونثيو. Calle del Nuncio, 14. Siglo XII-XIV.12th – 14th century. One of the few *Mudejar churches in the city. It retains a few original elements, such as walls, arches and beams; though not in their original condition. The brickwork tower is the best-preserved original element. Built in conjunction with the apse, it is 30 m high, with a rectangular floor plan, a central buttress and an internal staircase. It was discovered following restoration work carried out in 1980. The outer walls of the tower, on three sides, feature small arrow slits framed by pointed arches, while the upper part features eight semi-circular arches topped with a corner frieze and an alfiz or moulding. The exterior of the southern wall of the church features a series of blind semi-circular brick arches framed with two threads, which belonged to the primitive apse of the church from the 13th century. A document dated 1194 includes San Pedro in its list of the ten parishes in Madrid at the time. The church appears once again in 1202, the date of the Madrid Charter, allowing us to confirm that a church dedicated to San Pedro has existed since the end of the 12th century, though its location is not recorded. Finally, in 1273, a document recording a donation by Alfonso X which mentions a stream originating from the San Pedro fountains, allows the precise location of the church to be identified. Bueno. Good. The tower is the best preserved Mudejar element of the church. Although there are cracks in the building, these appear to have remained unchanged for centuries.
